about O-Shot®
The O-Shot® (Orgasm Shot®) is a nonsurgical platelet-rich plasma procedure that may be considered for concerns involving:
- Sexual Sensation
- Arousal
- Orgasm
- Stress Urinary Leakage
The procedure uses PRP prepared from the patient’s own blood and injected into:
- The Clitoris
- The Anterior Vaginal Wall
At Nuvo Med, the O-Shot is approached as an individualized medical procedure rather than a guaranteed enhancement treatment. A high-potency topical numbing cream is applied to the clitoris and anterior vagina for approximately 30 minutes before injection to support a very comfortable patient experience. Individual experiences may vary.
The procedure may be considered by patients experiencing:
- Reduced Sensation
- Difficulty Reaching Orgasm
- Changes In Orgasm Quality
- Mild Stress Urinary Leakage
Platelet-rich plasma contains platelets and associated growth factors involved in the body’s normal healing response. Researchers are studying whether localized PRP injections may have applications in female sexual health and stress urinary incontinence, but their effectiveness has not been conclusively established.
What It MAY ADDRESS
Following a medical evaluation, the O-Shot may be considered by some patients experiencing:
- Reduced Sexual Sensation
- Difficulty Reaching Orgasm
- Changes In Orgasm Quality
- Decreased Arousal
- Mild Stress Urinary Leakage
These concerns can have hormonal, pelvic-floor, neurologic, medication-related, psychological, or other medical causes. The O-Shot is not appropriate for every patient, and evaluation of possible underlying causes is an important part of treatment planning.
How O-Shot® works
The O-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from a sample of the patient’s own blood.
After a blood draw, the sample is processed to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion of the plasma. The resulting PRP contains platelets and associated growth factors involved in normal healing processes.
A high-potency topical numbing cream is applied to the clitoris and anterior vagina and allowed to take effect for approximately 30 minutes. The prepared PRP is then injected into the clitoris and anterior vaginal wall according to the provider’s clinical protocol.
Researchers are investigating whether PRP may influence localized tissue response, vascular signaling, and sexual-function symptoms. The precise mechanism and clinical significance of PRP injections for these concerns have not been established.
Results vary, and no particular change in sensation, orgasm, arousal, or urinary control can be guaranteed.
Important Considerations About the O-Shot®
Evidence concerning PRP injections for female sexual dysfunction and stress urinary incontinence remains limited. Although some studies report favorable patient outcomes, available research includes small patient populations, varying injection protocols, short follow-up periods, and a limited number of high-quality controlled trials.
The O-Shot should not replace an appropriate evaluation for hormonal changes, pelvic-floor disorders, urinary conditions, medication effects, pain disorders, infections, or other possible causes of sexual or urinary symptoms.
